Athenry Equestrian Centre is
located just north of Dainfern on the R511. It is in the heart of horse
country, a short drive from Johannesburg or Pretoria. Athenry prides itself on
its friendly atmosphere, personal attention and well looked
after horses, making it the ideal yard for a beginner or a competitive
rider. It is in close walking distance of Inanda Country Base (on horseback) and
close driving distance of Kyalami Equestrian Park, Burlington Stable Yard and
many other top competitive yards. This, along with shows held at Athenry, allows
for competition at all levels.
We have purchased the property next our old location at the old Riversands stable yard, and have built a brand new stable yard and riding school. The yard was officially opened at a small trial training show on 13 February 2005 with great success. The school is moving from strength to strength and we have welcomed many new riders, local as well a riders from all over the world. We continue to offer riding lessons, livery, friendly relaxed atmosphere and outstanding outrides.
