The current yard was officially opened February 2005. Since then the yard and riding school had been going from strength to strength and we have welcomed many new riders, local as well as riders from all over the world. We look forward in offering you profesional riding lessons, livery, a friendly relaxed atmosphere and outstanding outrides.
The brick stables have half-barn doors, are well ventilated, and padded with clean sawdust. Horses are groomed every day, and then put out to pasture in individual or group paddocks. They are fed three times a day, and spend most of their day in the paddocks with abundant access to water and adhoc grass. The stable manager and grooms live on site to ensure that the horses are always safe. A horse box is available. The stables and yard overlook the beautiful Riversands Farm.

Facilities at Athenry include a large sand jumping arena, warm up arena, dressage arena, lunge ring and a jumping race. The jumping arena is well stocked with jumping equipment. The dressage arena is floodlight. There is also a secure tack room, and electric fencing around the property. Ablution facilities are also available.

Experienced and qualified instructors are ready to teach anyone from absolute beginners to A grade showjumpers. The owner, Ingrid is a SANEF and FEI certified instructor and specialises in jumping, eventing, and dressage.

Shows
Athenry holds regular training showjumping shows during which we strive to recreate the look and feel of graded shows in terms of equipment and organization.

Athenry accommodate Adult, Junior and Child riders and have riders from all walks of live and from all over the world. We encourage all riders to experience all aspects of riding. Although we are a competitive yard, we acknowledge and support each rider preference, be it jumping, dressage or just hacking.

Riversands Farm, located across the road from the stables, allow for
beautiful outrides for our riders. We have permission to use the
Farm, which has a beautiful dam, and many cross country jumps.
